Toyota Diesel Engines offer plenty of options for your Land Cruiser
There are lots of Toyota diesel engines to consider for a swap into your Land Cruiser. The most common Toyota 4 cylinder variants are the 3B and the 13BT.
The most common Toyota 6 cylinder variants are the 2H, 12HT, 1HZ, 1HDT, and 1HDT-FE. There is a also a 5 cylinder version called the 1PZ that can be used in conversions.
Each engine has it's own unique good points and bad points, but we have generalized the pros and cons of all Toyota diesels to try to make this whole page more helpful. More information on Toyota diesels is available on the internet or by calling the shop.

- Typically quieter with less vibration than most other diesels of the era
- Factory looking installation
Toyota Diesel Cons
- Not readily available in used or rebuilt form
- Parts and sometimes service hard to locate
- Later versions are more costly to install
- Fewer transmission options
